Type a town and read its forecast, the way any weather app works. Or tap the map where there is no town at all: a pass, a beach, a summit, a campsite. The forecast is computed for that exact point at its real elevation, and the card names the place it is nearest to.
The next hours in 15-minute steps where the model covers them, then hour by hour for the day, then the week. Rain, temperature, felt temperature, wind and gusts, sunrise and sunset, and the day's highest UV index.
One switch puts a grid of forecasts on the map around wherever you look, so you see where the rain is and where it is not before choosing a direction.

Where does the data come from?
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, which combines the national weather models of Europe and the world. The rain radar comes from RainViewer, active fires from NASA FIRMS and the other hazards from GDACS.
Does it work offline?
The map does for the areas you have already looked at: the app keeps them on the phone. Forecasts need a connection, but the last one you looked at stays readable, with the time it was fetched.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. It runs in Safari and installs from the Share menu.
Can I just type a town, like my usual weather app?
Yes. The box takes a town or place name, or a pair of coordinates, and the map goes there. The difference is that you are not limited to towns: tap anywhere and you get the forecast for that spot, named after the place nearest to it.
What is the difference with WeatherGPX?
WeatherGPX is the full app for riders and hikers: it takes your GPX track, gives the weather at every point along it timed to your arrival, then navigates on it. W WEATHER is the weather part alone, for anyone, with nothing else in the way.
